What's up y'all...

I have a software installed called CoreCenter Cool n' Quiet, came w/ my MSI mobo It's reporting that the CPU temp idles @ 32C and system temp @ 38C. IS THIS RIGHT??? I mean should the system temp lower than the CPU temp? Thanks in advance...

System temps should generally be lower than CPU temps yes, and that system temp is a tad high. But having said that, temperature reading s/ware is notoriously iffy.

Don't you have temp readings in your BIOS? they will be more accurate.

If the ambient temp is high and your hsf is doing a good job then this may be a reason

The obvious solution would be to buy a case fan or two, but in the meantime you can improve airflow by streamlining all your cables (bunch 'em up and cable-tie them into nice neat ropes). Also where do you keep your case? on the floor, in a corner? that would be the worst place for it, if it must be on the floor then pull it out of the corner and give it some breathing room, but ideally have it up on the desk if you can bear the noise.

Another thing to do is get inside and clean out any dust from mobo, fans, and airvents.

thanks hooner :)...

I have 4 intakes fans installed (2 in front and 2 on the side panel) sucking air in and 2 on the back of the case ( 1 below the GFX card and another 1 next to the CPU blowing air out) and I guess you're right, those cables are blocking the airflow and I'll try your suggestion about tie 'em up meatly...but is 38C sys temp going to harm my performance/ system? otherwise i wouldnt worry bout it...

It's almost impossible to have a system temp higher than the CPU temp...it could be due to an inaccurate reading, or maybe the sensor is located in a hotspot in the case

It's not a disaster by any means, and very doubtful it will harm your PC in any way, and as Jam says, more than likely it's an inaccurate reading.

A little tip about rear extraction fans that I found out.

If there is the usuall grill type mesh on your case where the fan blows through, then cutting a hole out of this mesh lets your fan blow(extract) a lot more.Sometimes the grilling prevents the fan from blowing out properly.

Badly explained but I hope you get the gist.

Whether temps are reversed or not, they're still just fine.

And your room temp should be around 22 or 23°C if a/c is set to 75°F.

I'd hate to pay your bill if you have the thermostat set to 40°F. Set it to about 78°F and help save the earth.
