I dont know alot about computors so maybe you can shed some light. I had a really bad virus so I ran malware, symantic, spyware doctor, avast for a couple of months finally I got my system back and what I thought was clean. but now my montor never sleeps and the computor just runs and runs. when i look at the task mgr. ctrl, alt del. all I see running is the system idle process, taskmgr, iexplore, mostley, then now and then. lsass.exe,jqs.exe,agrsmmsg and a few others. any thoughts

I don't understand why it's so difficult to post in the correct forum? This is not a CPU/overclocking question. Try the XP or Security & Virus forum.

jam: I suspect that some of these recent posts that don't belong in the cpu/overclocking forum are perhaps because the posters think that "cpu" refers to the whole computer, and not the processor. Perhaps Justin should change the name to processor/overclocking, but that;s probably too long.

"posters think that "cpu" refers to the whole computer"

I'm sure that's the case but misposting has been happening in all the forums, not just the CPU/overclock forum, & it seems to be getting worse. I'll no longer answer questions that are misposted. I just reply as I did above & the rest is up to them.

Another thing that's becoming all too common is "hit & run" posters - they ask their question, then never return. Either that or they retrieve the answer & don't even bother to say thanks. I realize there's nothing that can be done about it but it's annoying none the less.

I definitely agree with you about that. What's even worse are posters who expect an answer right away and say things like "helooo" when they don't get an immediate response. I wonder sometimes how many posters are aware that the help given here is all voluntary. I remember posting a question to this forum years ago and wondering whether some of the helpers were not in fact being paid. I pretty quickly figured out that that was not the case, but maybe something should be posted about that. But I’m getting off topic myself now-this is better discussed in the Lounge, I guess.
