Comment: I have a system that is running very slow. The processor is a pentium II 233 but when the OS boots up it does not recognize it as a p2 233. I am assuming the cmos battery is low and is not holding up the charge to keep the settings correctly. Any suggestions?

On older motherboards the CPU speed is set
by jumpers, not thru CMOS setup.
