So I got this board and CPU in yesterday. I do not know the exact make of the board but it has the clock and voltage set on jumpers. It came with a K6-2 and everything is intergrated on it.. USB.. Video..s ound.. But yes.. Its a K6-2 400 model.. I cannot get the board to post.. Iv tried several different jumper settings.. downclocking it and other things.. Iv even tried different processors.. The lowest voltage on the board is 2.2 and the K6 highest is 2.1 so I have read? But the board wont even start with any other processor.. the fans and such kick on witht he K6 in but thats it.. no post or anything.. Any advice anyone? I will try to find the boards make and model later. Thanks!

RAM? CPU seated right? power supply good? and some K6-2s ran at 2.1vcore some at 2.2vcore but you can run a 2.1 at 2.2 with no problem. try clearing the BIOS/CMOS settings; by jumper is there is one if not remove the CMOS battery unplug the board and let it sit for a while.

Tried it all, Iv used two power supplises, three different sticks of ram. Even a seperate video card.. I think it might be the processor.. but the fans turn with it in there.. When I put another processor in there and reset the voltage and such for it such as a pentium MMX it wont do anything at all..

Is the board loose (on the bench) or in a case? If it's in a case, did you install it or did it come that way?

To troubleshoot, disconnect all the non-essentials from the board...you don't need a floppy, HDD, optical drive, modem, soundcard, USB devices, etc to get the board to post. All you need is the board, CPU w/HSF, PSU, ONE stick of RAM, video card (or onboard), monitor, & keyboard.

when you tried the differant CPU you made sure the jumpers were correct for that CPU? also, check to make sure board is correctly mounted in the case and nothing underneith it that should not be casue if it is shourting out on some peice of the case or a screw or something there's your problem

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!! A dead Super Socket 7 board! 8'( too bad, socket 7 systems rock. It's a pitty that both M/B and CPU are dead. Hard luck.
