Subject: Still need answers for 3dmark!!!!!
OS: Windows XP
CPU/Ram: P4 2.4 / 512 PC3200
Comment:

I posted previously in this forum about my 3DMark2001SE scores being soooo low. I am now getting 8093 score and all the benchmarks I've seen with the same setup as mine has been over 11,000 and alot of times over 14,000!!!
Doesn't anyone have the knowledge to help? lol
It's just pissing me off everytime I see someone with such higher scores than me. I need to find out what's so messed.

Here are my specs again:

P4 2.4Ghz @ 2.52 (512 L2)
Soyo P4X400 Dragon Ultra (533 FSB, DDR400, AGP Pro 8x)
512mb PC3200 Kingston @ 200mhz
ATI Radeon 9700 Pro 128mb
Soundblaster Live
WD Cavier SE 80gb
400W PSU
Windows XP
*I have all the latest drivers (video, sound, chipset, etc.) and bios version installed.
I have tried to optimize my video card settings and ran the test with v-sync disabled of course. No matter what I do I can't get any benchmarks over 10000 which seems really terrible for this setup. The reports from others with same specs confirms it.
And yes...my card is plugged into the power supply.

Thanks in advance.

I forget to say that I ran the test with default settings (1024 x 768 x 32 and AA set at 0).

Aside from a complete reinstall, I would start with testing the power supply. It may not be giving the right voltage under load. After that, I would contact Soyo. I have a MSI KT333 Mobo, Athlon 2400+, 256 PC2100, G4 Ti 4200, and SB Audigy. I can hit 10,000, 12,000 with an overclocked FSB. I really think you have a bad Mainboard or power supply.

Same with me, I can hit 10,612 with

KT3-V L ( L = onbloard LAN )
Athlon XP 2100+ @ 1.76GHZ
1,536MB DDR PC2100 @ 270MMZ

1,612 with 3Dmark 2003

BIOS setting is on High Performance which overcloked my PC a bit

Try going into the BIOS and see if there is a option for High Performance Setting,use theis setting and you should ok

The specs you got you should be in the 15,000 range, like Jeff Addison said could be a bad mobo, mobo makes all the difference with performance

Goodluck

Forgot to mention graphic card, it's a Geforce 4 TI 4200 128MB AGP 8X running at 4x ( mobo won't go higher than 4x )

Sorry for so many replies, but I just noticed you had PC3200 RAM @ 200mhz

That RAM should be at 400mhz!

your RAM is running slower than mine

Make sure in the BIOS the RAM is default or running at spcifacly 400MHZ, as that could be casuing your slowdown

PC2100 = 266MHZ
PC2700 = 333MHZ
PC3200 = 400MHZ

Goodluck again :)

Zero Cool,

He is running his RAM at 400 mhz. In his bios where you select RAM/CPU Bus, it will read 133/200 mhz. The 133 being the CPU bus, and the 200 mhz being the RAM bus. So he is running his memory at 400 mhz (DDR). I can see how his post is a little confusing though, caught my eye as well.

I got it fixed. I had a problem with either 3dmark or the ATI drivers. Have a feeling it was the drivers were not installed properly or they were corrupt.

Anyways....I scored a 13,246....little better than what i had before. :)

I'll get it up above 14,000 soon LOL

Thanks to all that posted.
