Reply: (edit)yep, even the fact I dont know much about the consecuences of overclocking, I have enoug knowledge to say that mobo its impossible to overclock, but if I'm in a mistake take a look in your bios an option CPU /pnG or something, there are a few options to make faster your cpu, but if that option is not present... just forgot it and trash it. Mobo: Intel 865PERL Chipset: IntelĀ® 865PE CPU: Intel P4 Northwood 3.0 GHZ RAM: 512MB DDR-SDRAM Video: ATI Radeon 7000VE Series TV-Out 64MB Audio: SoundMAX4XL HD: Maxtor 120GB IDE

Reply: (edit)Do you honestly not have an extra 200$ lying around the house somwhere??? An A8N sli deluxe mobo AND a 3700+ athlon san diego add up to less then $200. You can then keep your mem and use an onboard videocard... If u can't affort 200$, buy something even cheaper >.< Im pretty sure anything over $50 will be a greatly significant improovement over your present system... P.S this combo deal on newegg costs $100 and will improove your pc performance by 10x or more... http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ... God i feel sorry for you last (more like last 10) generation folks... Good luck

Reply: (edit)Sorry luke...you have all you're gonna get out of that thing. PRO's: The GX1 is a pretty good and very reliable machine. CON's: It won't overclock It was intended to be a workstation The PIII/500 you have is a crappy overclocker on any motherboard...best I've heard of is 5x112Mhz for a 560Mhz solution. Bottom line: Please reread response number 1. Skip

Reply: (edit)You could try a software overclocking solution, such as SoftFSB. But even if software overclocking works, you won't be able to get much of a boost because of the external cache. The cache on those early P3s weren't designed to go much faster than their default speeds. Check out my flickr stream.
