hey,
i just got an asus a7v266 with the audio on board. but i don't want to use the audio chipset that is on the motherboard. i have a sblive that i would like to use, but the card isn't detected. is there anything i can do to disable the onboard audio and have it detect my card?

Go into the bios, along the top there should be an "advanced" tab, go into that, then go to "chip configuration" near the bottom of the screen, if you scroll almost all the way down there is an option for "Onboard PCI audio", set this to disabled and then you should be able to detect your sblive! card.
