Comment: Who wants to be my saviour?
Im looking for suggestions as to why my Sony Vaio wont start up past the '1' bar on the bottom of the screen. Power is going through, the '1' bar lights up orange and their is a high pitched whining coming from the hard drive but that is it! Any suggestions from the deep depths of cyber world as to what the potential problem could be and how i can fix it??

Reply: (edit)if you have your windows xp cd you can boot from that in repair console and then type the comand fixboot and that should do it.
