Sony Vaio upgrade or overclock?

I have a Sony Vaio RX-540 desktop with a 1.20 GHz 370 pin FC-PGA2 Celeron chip with a 100Mhz bus speed running Windows XP.The motherboard is model TUSL-LV and appears to be an Asus. I maxed out the ram to 512 mgs and the system runs fine but I was looking to upgrade the chip to get a faster bus speed but the only upgrades available seem to be a 1.40 GHz with the same bus speed or a Pentium 1.20 GHz with a 133 Mhz bus speed. Neither of which seems to be worth the trouble or money. I've never done an overclocking and was wondering if the risk was worth trying to get a little more zip out of my chip. The socket 370 chips don't have much in the way of upgrades at this point in time. The motherboard I think was made specifically for Sony because I cannot find it listed on the Asus website, so I don't even know if the motherboard can handle any kind of tinkering. I was hoping someone in this forum has had some experience with Sony Vaios but if not, I'll gladly take some advice from those of you more experienced and knowledgable in this field. Should I give it a shot or should I sit and wait and hope for another chip upgrade? Does anyone know if there are some socket 370 chips in the works? Thanks for any help.

Being a complete sony fan myself.(mac user though ; ) My advice is wait for an upgrade from sony...it would be a shame to fry such a nice pc in order to gain a little more speed. If anything I would suggest selling it and buying a newer/faster one.

I'm not familiar with your SONY & I'm admittedly an AMD man...but Socket 370, like Socket 7, is dead. If you wanna upgrade, you'd be better off getting a new motherboard & CPU...possibly a whole new system. But if you wanna reuse what you have (video, sound, hard drive, etc), there are plenty of mobo/cpu bundles available for about $100. Check your power supply wattage before doing anything...although some claim to get by with a 250 watt PSU, you should have a minimum of 300 watts.
