I have a sony rxa842 with a amd 2400 xp athlon 512 mb of ddr 2100 ram, and an nvidia nforce a7n266-vx. can any one tell me how to unlock my bios and and overclock this thing?

I don't think you can if Sony locked the bios. Beware Brand-name computers.

you cant overclock sony,dell,compaq and any name brand computer

Yeah i was wondering about this bios lock out. I acquired a computer off my sister once she finished uni. and it was full of the compaq pre loaded rubish and i found i couldnt enter bios because a screen with "compaq" came up. I formatted the hard drive thinking it would get rid of this but it didnt, so i suppose thats usual for brand computers?

To Yanatos:

That screen with "Compaq" is just a BIOS image. It has nothing to do with the operating system and if you just press the "delete" key on your keyboard when you see that screen come up, you will be able to get in to the BIOS. Trust me on this one as my sister uses a Compaq and I have gone through the BIOS more than a few times.
