How do I find out what CPU socket type my motherboard has?

Download CPUZ version 1.29. Unzip it, open the folder & click on CPUZ.exe. All the info you need (& more) will be there. You either have a Slot A or a Socket A CPU

Your spec show you have an AMD Athlon 800MHz processor, you should therefore have a propietary (Gateway) AMD Slot A K7 motherboard.

Take the side panel off. If you see a big fan mounted on top of a heatsink (metal fins) right on the motherboard, you have Socket A.

If you see something that looks like an old-skool Nintendo cartridge with a heatsink mounted on the side of it, you have Slot A.
