Subject: Socket A fan..help meOS: Windows XPCPU/Ram: MSI K7T Turbo2 AMD Athlon |
Comment: With all of the overclocking that I'm doing I would like to get a new processor fan but I don't know what the size of it is, does anyone know the length and width of a fan that comes with the AMD Athlon XP 2000+?

Reply: (edit)The stock fan is 60mmx60mm. If you are going to replace it you are best off replacing the heatsink and fan as well, since the stock sink is fairly lame. A heavy copper cooler with an 80mm fan will cool the best at moderate to low noise levels.

Reply: (edit)I don't really give about noise levels considering I blast music all the time, and when I sleep I either put the computer into standby or shut it down. Is there any better fans?

Reply: (edit)At that note, do you have any exact names of fans that you know are really good, preferably one that you use or you know a person who uses one.
