Specs: Windows XP
I've been converting avi files to DVD using convertex to DVD for some time. Just lately it's taken to powering off a little way into the conversion. No error messages, just like a switch has been flicked and the power's gone. I reinstalled the OS (XP) and installed an earlier version of Convertex and all was fine, now it's doing the shutdown again. Help?

Please post in the correct forum. Your question has nothing to do with CPUs or overclocking.

Video encoding takes a lot of CPU power. My guess is that your CPU is overheating, cutting the power to protect itself. Make sure that the heatsink is properly attached to the CPU, and that all of the fans work.
