hi all ,
got a new pc , p4 d920 cpu , now it shuts the pc down at 52c , im not laying games just surfing the net or editing photographs , but everytime my cpu hits 52c it shuts down , thought these cpu's where made to handle heat.
any help much appreciated

Where are you getting this 52C temp reading from? The BIOS? or a software program?

Go into your bios and change it. 52C isn't that high. My AMD 64 3500 & Intel Core 2 Duo are both stable 60C. From what I remember, your's should be higher than either of mine. My AMD runs between 60 & 65 if it's doing anything. I had to bump it up to 65C warning/70c shut off because the warning kept going off at 60C. I haven't had any more problems.

I'm not sure where my Intel runs. When I look in bios it's always below 50. I have the warning set at 60 and it's never gone off even when gaming (BF2, 2142, CounterStrike)
