799 mhz but on my processor it says 1.9 gig, and the L1 and L2 are enable on the BIOS why does it say L2 is disabled when I did a full test on pcpitstop?

I'm not familiar with pcpitstop so I can't answer that question.

You didn't actually name your CPU but I'm guessing it's an Athon XP 1900+. It should run at a clock speed of 1.6Ghz (12.0 x 133Mhz FSB).

You also didn't name your motherboard...you didn't say if you've had this CPU running at the proper speed before...or if you've just installed the CPU.

My guess would be that your motherboard settings are wrong...either jumpers or DIP switches on the board need to be changed, or possibly a BIOS setting.

I'm a little confused myself though...your multiplier should be locked at 12.0x but I doubt that your board supports a 66Mhz FSB. If you do the math, 12 x 66Mhz = 792Mhz. Unless you're somehow underclocked...6.0 x 133Mhz FSB = 798Mhz...but if you're multipier is locked, I don't think it would accept a 6.0x setting...but basically, you're running at only half speed.

As for your L2 Cache...it's on-chip & should be enabled if your BIOS is set that way. I'd be suspect of this pcpitstop program. Try downloading SiSoftware SANDRA if you wanna benchmark your system.

Look for SANDRA with google. Also, try www.3Bsoftware.com, but I couldn't figure out how to download it there.

No, it is not. Also, consider getting a program called WCPUID. It is the best program for CPU identification, as it will tell you things you didn't know existed. And it is completely accurate. Look for that with google too, and the latest version is either 3.0f or 3.0g, not sure which. And there might be an even later version.

Well, you had XP in your post so I guessed wrongly that it was an Athlon XP. Were you referring to Windows XP? You didn't answer my question...did you EVER have it running at the proper speed?

I searched for A-trend & they have 5 boards with the i845 chipset...you're gonna have to nail down a model number...it should be ATC-8020, ATC-8020xxx (3 models), or ATC-8060. I can't seem to find an Atrend website though...maybe someone else can help ya out there.

As for SANDRA, just do a search using GOOGLE.com...lots of sites offer it as a download...or go to SiSoftware.com
