I seem to have a problem with a DURON 700mhz in a JETWAY 663AS PRO motherboard. I tried my friends Duron processor and the computer works fine. But when I put my 700mhz one in, the computer comes on, two beeps come out of the internal speaker and it says CMOS FAILURE INSERT SYSTEM DISK - like the BIOS FLASH IS CORRUPTED - well I know its not because when I put my mates processor back in, everything is back to normal. Its strange that the processor is making the computer think that it has a corrupt bios flash. I recently overclocked using the pencil trick to 933mhz but now I have rubbed out all pencil marks.

For $43 on Price Watch you can get a Duron 1.2GHz.

Did you try your 700 in your "mates" computer? If you were running at 933mhz, why did you rub out the pencil? Is it possible that there are still traces of pencil that are possibly smeared where it shouldn't be?

Clean that thing with acetone and a q-tip.
