Hello to you all.
I have a Asus M2NPV-MX Mobo with AMD Sempron 2800+ 1.6ghz
RAM is 512MB DDR2 PC667 1 stick. I am wondering what settings I can use to safely overclock this machine?
I have took the following settings from my BIOS:
CPU speed 1696, cache RAM 128 Memory clock frequency DDR2 800. All the other settings are currently on "Auto"Thanking you in advance

I am sure that, you have done some research and read that OC'ing is a trial and error system. every system will Overclock different then another one.
so simply set out and see how far the system will let you push it. So in the Bios you should have a menu for overclocking 200mhz-400mhz in 1mhz increments.
Do some Google searchs and see what info you pull up, then if you still hit a wall come back and post. your problems and be detailed about it too.
Lost Art of the internet.

"Asus M2NPV-MX Mobo"
Your overclocking will be limited since you do not have a great motherboard to start with... Normally, you start with this below...
CPU External frequency = 250Mhz (10Mhz increment from 200Mhz)
CPU multiplier = 8x
CPU vcore = 1.5v (+0.025v increment from stock keep load temp < 65C)
CPU:RAM = 1:1:33 for 250mhz CPU EF implies 667Mhz RAM...
PCI-E/PCI = 100/33MhzTMP-Man
Asus P5P800 PAT
P4 506 @ 4009Mhz 1.3v
Thermaltake CLP0024 w/ 1700RPM 92MM + AS5
2GB OCZ 2-3-2-5 DDR400
120GB/300GB 7200RPM HD
Leadtek 7600 AGP 590/1600 VF700 ALCU AS5

OK I have entered the above settings but the system is now only registering 256MB RAM, have i missed something or is this normal? Thank you for all your help, i really appreciate it!

Sorry, forgot to mention the CPU speed is now 2.0Ghz, but like I say RAM is 256 instead of 512. thanks for your help..
