Hi,
I have a DFI PS83-BL motherboard and an SATA HD giving me problems. In order to overclock, I need the "Async AGP/PCI/SRC" option enabled in the bios to 66.7/33.3/100MHz. If I don't enable this, my SATA fails because it's being run out of its frequency, thats why i need the lock. However, when I DO enable the lock to 66.7/33.3/100, my hd isn't detected anymore. People at DFI have said this is a problem with my motherboard's lock not working correctly. I'd like to make sure by trying any ideas you guys have to make the damn lock work with my hd.
Please help,
Flaviu

I am using 6 systems with SATA and don't have the problem you are experiencing. 3 of them are 865 Intel Chipsets like yours.
Are you using Raid 0/1, or simply using SATA drive as primary?

I'm simply using an SATA drive connected to one of the 2 SATA ports. I've tried numerous settings in the bios pertaining to ide and to sata settings. I think its a PS83-BL specific issue :(

Hello,
Personally im not an intel man but your problem seems to be with the bios..

Your Bios seems to have "issues" with these functions..
Have you looked up the latest bios upgrades and checked the "issues" that have been fixed..?, becuase your problem maybe one of the "issues" thats been fixed..
Like i said, im not a great intel man but thats the first thing i would check..
