I been slowly overclocking my xp1700, i have ran prime 95 torture, how long should i run that for.

I don't use it, but I run toast for about ten minutes. A kick ass game is also a good indicator of stability. I also keep temp monitoring software running thru all the processes.

run at least 24 hours straight..lemme tell you, it doesn't really pick out FSB overclocking errors..at least didn't grab mine..had games crashing total system lockup requiring hard reset..then dropped the FSB down 2 clocks and no problems..

This will also test your hsf cooling efficiency, runs my 1800+ (pally core) up to 52C..which is too high, time for a new hs i guess

If you could pass Prime95 in all catagories for about an hour, your system will be very stable. You could run Toast for 24 hours and crashes with Prime95 in 10 minutes.
