You need to clarify your specs. Do you have a Phenom or one of the Phenom based X2's or X3's? Is the system overclocked?

Do you have DDR2-1066 or DDR2-800? Because your last line says "OCZ Gold XTC OCZ2G10662G 2 GB DDR2-800 x 2?

And you said it works better with the default setting...what is it defaulting to?

Your link may say it's DDR2-1066 but CPUZ says it's DDR2-800. True DDR2-1066 that conforms to the JEDEC standard runs at 1.8v, not 2.1v, plus it would show up on the CPUZ table as DDR2-1066. What you appear to have is DDR2-800 that's being marketed as DDR2-1066. The only way to get it to run at that speed would be to manually configure the BIOS/RAM settings.

my ram OCZ DDR2 PC2-8500 Gold Edition 4GB Dual Channel........2x2GB...link on my first post..
i was running it at 1066mhz from when i built the rig...6/7 months.
CL 5-6-6-18
2.1 Volts......which is the advised setting from OCZ.
but i am now gone back to running it at 800mhz because of the above problem.
iv gone from 1066 to 800mhz lots of time to test it...but everytime i go to 1066 i get the flicker.
