Comment:

I have a AA722396-108 motherboard (OEM version of Intel SE440BX-2 Motherboard).

It's now running a pIII 450, 100 bus.

I have a pIII 1 ghtz, 133 bus chip.

Should I even attempt to run this chip on this board or will it cause damage to the board or chip? (chip only cost me $3, so I'm willing to experiment).

I know i need to by an adapter for the slot 1 board.

Even still, could this possibly work?

You may want to check the tech specs on a website.

A couple of months ago I switched out a p3 600 100 for a p3 1000 133 that I scavenged. Using the fan that I got with the p3 1000, the new processor worked like a dream. Admittedly, they were both same-socket processors.

All the tech specs I've found so far say that it requires 100 mhz bus.
Most say I can try up to 850 mhz processor, some say any processor speed (as long as bus is 100).
Did you go from a slot 1 processor to a slot 1 processor?

Thanks
