Well you seem to have an idea and Asus could be right on the south bridge going bad. I mean if the processor is fine and the ram is fine and the psu is fine, but you are still having problems then it seems like the motherboard is going on you.

If the processor itself is not physically damaged or modify (applies to lapping), then there is no way they can tell if you had overclock the processor... My question is that does it run stable at stock settings?

It has been OC scene last august. I don’t think the OC caused it. I think it might be the M/B because I was trying to see if it would let me OC to 3.75 again it tried but it said it was a 2.81 I had to take the battery out to fix it. If the CPU was going bad would it do this?

Here is a update on this problem I took it to geek squad and they ran tests on it the hard drive was bad. So I got a new hard drive and it restarts now. After I reloaded windows I OC the CPU to 3.61 and it restarted but about 30 min later it would not restart. It only doses it when I raise the CPU clock up. And now im getting bleu screen a lot some times when it dose this it will say I have a 3.21 and 2.81. Is the CPU going on me or M/B?
Geek squad said the CPU and M/B and RAM tested fine.

Well I have finely found the problem the CPU is going out on me. I tested my sister laptop CPU in it and it worked fine I OC it to 3.6 and it will restart. So I called Intel and they gave me a RMA on the CPU. I would like to thank all the people for helping me with this and for answering so fast. Here is some bad new about 4 days ago my bro (Bigzam12) was loading his OS on his new hard drive and his comp turn off and would not turn back on so we took it to Geek squad and they said the M/B GPU PSU and maybe Ram was gone. They could not test the ram or the cpu my question is could the cpu be fried? His sound card was ok and hard drives geek squad said it might be ok. The darn PSU fried it had always not worked right when you would move that 24 pin M\B connector it would just turn off but we did’t think it would fire the comp. If the CPU is fried and Intel know they will not rma it so what would we tell them?
