Hi, just a quick question about replacing *just* the CPU cooling fan without replacing the entire heatsink.. Is is possible to do this if done carefully? i.e. by unscrewing the fan from the current heatsink and replacing it with a new/different fan. I am not comfortable replacing the entire heatsink myself. Is this possible to just the fan?
Any help would be greatly appreciated! :-)

Yeah, just don't apply too much force on the screwdriver. Be gentle, and make sure you get the replacement on the right way.

last thing you want is to thread-strip it. when it comes to inside the pc it's a lot better to just make sure it's snug then to over tighten it for many reasons.

Some people like to superman tighten there stuff and I see no point in that because it will do nothing good and could do everything bad like cracking a board or a mount or thread-striping it.
