Replaced CPU - Now now video

OS: XP
CPU/Ram: Athlon XP 1700+

Fan stopped on CPU - burned up chip - replaced with same xp 1700+...booted to Bios and then after bout 10 seconds monitor stated no video input. Replaced video card with no luck - verified video card is good - GEFORCE2. Did I burn another chip or is MOBO bad???

is it a new CPU ?
can you test it on another machine ?

if it works ok i would say you mobo has fried....if you havent got another machine to try it on its hard to say what the problem is unless you start checking with a magnifying glass...

one thing to check is the edges of the cpu....it should have PERFECT straight edges NO CHIPS or CRACKS
