I damaged a few pins on my cpu when taking it out and had to replace it with a new one (of same spec) When I turn on pc I get no signal on screen. I have un plugged everything not required (CD, HDD, PCI Cards, RAM) and get same result, I've removed then replaced Cmos battery and reset jumper settings but still nothing. I am getting power from PSU.The CPU fitted in fine but could Motherboard be damaged from when I took out original CPU? Motherboard MS-6719 Ver:1 Any help greatful!!

Did you break the pins completely off? I've straightened bent pins before & the CPU works fine afterwards. I don't know what you did when you removed the CPU, but generally you just unlock the lever & the CPU lifts straight off without a problem..no prying or anything like that is necessary...

Maybe if you explained what you did & how? Possibly you damaged the board?

Try restarting with just the RAM, CPU and Video card plugged into the monitor and see what happens. BTW do you get any beep codes @ all at boot?

......forgot to add if you have two connectors on the motherboard for an ATX12V PSU, make sure you have both connected.

One of the pins has broken off completely so I went out and purchased another cpu of exactly the same spec. As the Heat sink was stuck to the cpu I couldnt lift the leaver to remove the cpu just eased the whole thing out!! I am wondering if by doing that I have in some way damaged the motherboard, it looks ok and the new cpu fits in perfectly.
I have restared with just the ram, cpu and video card plugged into monitor and still nothing. No beeps either. Both connectors are connected.

By "easing the whole thing out" you may have damaged CPU socket, unless somehow you are still able to lock the CPU in-place with the lever.

The CPU is locked in fine, all the pins go in ok and the leaver then closes ok keeping it in place.

If you have a manual for it, try clearing the CMOS and see if you can lower the fsb clock then restart the PC again.

You either got defective CPU or some broken pins are still in board.

did your keyboard light on when you press the tower-power, if not likely due to montherboard.

did your cd-rom running & the light is on, if not running likely due to power supply

I've cleared the CMOS but not the fsb clock, i'll try that.

Keyboard light flashes on as I turn on power but there is no light after that.

The CD ROM opens and closes fine.

There shouldn't be any pins in the board as they are all still on the original CPU apart from the one that came of but I have that as well. The new CPU fits in fine.

Monitor works fine with other PC.

Fans are running ok.

All hardware is the same apart from new CPU, which is exactly the same specififcation as the old one.

Jumper settings are fine

you've to make your own final decision which hardware is the most possible damage one.

Sorted!! I took apart the motherboard to make sure nothing on there was damaged and it all seemed ok - I then put the old damaged chip back in and it booted up fine!! There is one less pin in it but it seems ok. (so far!!) They new chip was exactly them same spec but there was obviousley something very slightly different (unless the new chip was damaged) Anyway thanks to everyone for their help in this matter - I know where to come next time!! Hoosh
