My computer freezes soon after booting up. I have tried every option I could, removed all the hardware components one by one,
re-formatted the disk and tried to start up; But still no luck. I had this machine for over 3 years never had this kind of fetal errors before. Wondering if anyone have an idea of what the problem could be?

Hello Ajay.
At what point does it freeze? You have to give a little more information such as your processor type and speed, the operating system you use etc.

Have you tried to boot into safe mode?
Let us know a little more.

Run a hard drive diagnostic test and post your result(s).

Hi Raymond, I did try to run it in safe mode before formatting the drive and after formatting the drive it gets stuck even in safe mode. It boots up normally but once the boot procedure is complete, after 5 minutes or so and some times a bit longer it will work fine and suddenly the death blow (freezes completely).
Processor speed-- 1.8 ghz, RAM - 384 mb,
OS-- tried it on both XP (professional and Home).
I did a drive fitness test, it says it is fine.
Yes, I did a check for the fan and the dust, Fan is working fine and I have cleared the dust.

Take one of the two sticks of ram out and try it, if its not fixed try just the other one. I did a google search and saw one other problem like your and it was the hard drive.

WD has a good hard drive test, run the full test from DOS.

Perhaps it is your CPU overheating?

I don't know if early pentium 4 chips had
overheating protection built in? Anyone?

Thanks for all your comments.
There was a problem with my Graphics card.
But I ended up spending some money to find out what the problem is.
