This isn't a CPU issue, but I thought a few of you my know the answer to this problem. I just buit a PC that has an Athlon 1.4 Ghz CPU 2 Western Digital 7200 RPM ATA100 40 gig HD's, 512 MB DDR RAM, and an AMI MegaTrends IDE 100 RAID controller. I think the RAID controller is setup correctly (The first HD setup as Master on the Primary connection, and the second HD setup as Master on the Secondary connection on the RAID controller), but when I boot it stalls on "Scanning for Primary Master",if I restart a couple of times, it will finally boot, what causes this?.

scanning for primary master is what your bios does when it is set to boot from the ide bus...

you need to change the boot sequence in your bios to "scsi" first, because a raid controller is just like a scsi device...
