Ok i have an hp xe743 with a asus motherboard model number MEW-AM with the intel 810E chip set this board came with the phoenix bios ver4.0 and a 600MHz celeron processor i'm wanting to upgrade the processor to something with a little more speed but i don't know what i can put in it if anything at all i'm hoping even a 700MHz 800MHz and or 900MHz celeron god just something a little faster then this 600MHz celeron if anyone has any ideas or any knowledge on these boards and or any other info they can provide it would be helpful thank you all

i even sent you the mobo manual saying it will take a 500+ chip ... the best thing you can do is try it !!!!!!

seeing as the cele 500 was the only chip avaliable when they made mobo im sure it will be fine !!!!!!!!

increasing the CPU from 600 to 900 will not get you a huge increase in speed.On paper it shows a 50% increase in real life ...forget it maybe 20% increase in speed.Try adding Ram that usually increases speed more significantly per dollar amount spend.

Yes, ram...
I have one of these boxes sitting here, its my brothers computer... and they only come with 64 megs of ram. Up it to at least 192 or more, the more the better, for a very noticable perfomrance gain. Also, consider adding a better video card than the integrated piece of crap that it comes with.
