Can anyone recommend the quitest possible power supply and heatsink/fan?

1. Power supply, at least 300W. The fan on my current power supply is very loud.

2. Heatsink/fan - I have an AMD Athlon 1.2 ghz processor but the fan sounds like an F-16.

Cost is no object.

Thanks.

Antec makes reliable, quiet PSU's. My 400W Macron is pretty quiet too.

And the Thermaltake Volcano 7 is bearable too, while cooling pretty good. I reccomend getting it from thecardcooler.com though, cause they have moved the thermal sensor so it takes readings from the CPU core instead of ambient temp.

I'd also recommend the Thermaltake Volcano 7, especially the Volcano 7+ model, which has a fan selector speed

Heh, I'm using the V7+ right now, on its highest setting it sounds like a jet engine, and is only coolin about as well as the V7 would on full speed, which is about as loud as my V7+ on medium speed :b

seems everyone is putting in their 2 cents worth for the Volcano 7. I have it to. The fans speed is proportionate to the CPU temp. It never goes above 3600rpm for me. I think it maxes at 6500rpm. It has a nice 80mm fan that blows lots of air. On startup, when the CPU is at its coolest it spins at a modest 2100 rpms and speeds up gradually. Maybe I'll have to wait until the middle of Aug for it to hit its highest setting. Anyway great fan at a great price.

as for Power supply - go with antec.
