Quick CPU question

Specs: Windows XP, Intel® Pentium® D Processor 925/2GB RAM
Hey guys.

Quick question as i can't seem to find my answer.

Could i run a Intel® Pentium® D Processor 925
(4M Cache, 3.00 GHz, 800 MHz FSB) on this motherboard? ASUS P5G41T-M LX Intel G41 microATX Motherboard - Intel 775 Socket.

Your CPU support list:
There is a strange twist on your list from ASUS in that it supports some of the later P4's but it does not list the Pentium D so probably NOT but you may want to contact ASUS tech support to be sure.

You have to be a little bit crazy to keep you from going insane.

Because the board supports P4s and C2Ds, I'm guessing that it, being a cheap G41 mATX, just can't handle the maximum power draw of the Pentium D. Those were power hungry processors that, despite their 95-130w TDPs, were capable of drawing even more current than the 140w Phenom IIs!
