could some one please help me:
i have a new pc and i am a bit of a newbie at pcs:
it has a 400w fan which powers
3.2Ghz
1024mb ram
256mb graphics card
400Gb hard drive
e.t.c.it seems to be a basic (cheap) fan in it and when in use for a while (say 3-4 hrs) the top of the case part of the sides (around the supply) get extremely warm and at all times i can hear the fan whizzing quite loud in the next room. I am just waiting for it to go *POP*
as i have sent the computer back 2 times and received it with different faults would any one advise me to send it back and get a refund or is this usual for pc system with these specs ?
just for the record the company is Watford Electronics www.savastore.co.uk there are also many complait topics which can be fould on romulus2.com
so basically i am a newbie looking for advice, please reply bearing in mind that i just received the computer today. (the first time it would turn on).
thank you

If possible, you should return it. It isn't normal at all, and if the PSU blows, it could damage the other computer components. Either replace the PSU with a higher quality PSU, or get your money back and go somewhere else that has better reviews.
Sounds like you didn't go with a very basic computer...with bigger and more components, they tax your PSU even harder

Joe,I'm in the uk same as you and I have had a few battles over equipment.
You don't say how long you have had your sys but go here to give you some information about your rights.

With you having your sys that length of time, no prob, you can just contact them and return it as not suitable for purpose, you have 7 days to do this.

def..get rid of it...low quality psu can bring down the whole system. A good psu will never have to reach top speed even if u use the comuter 24/7. you def should not be able to here it in the next room.

yes true true a good quolity psu will make your system much stable
i had a chepo 400w and replaced it with an expensive one with a ultra quiet fna and it is cooler and muh MUCH more stable the extra money it worth it try
www.scan.co.uk for new parts or systems they are amazing value and frendly and fast responce
+ the psu glows blue :)
