At home i've found an old PSU and i've decided to take the fan in it and utilize it as a case fan in my computer cause i don't have one. The fan is 12V and 0,13A. Because i don't know where to connect it i've try to rely the fan with a free IDE connector. I take the red and black cable of the fan and put them in the holes of the IDE connector with the same color. With this the fan work but turn very slowly. Someone know why and where else can i connect the fan ? I know that the fan can turn faster cause i check it when she was in the PSU.

Actually, the yellow and black are 12 volts. Black to black, yellow to red. I've got the same thing in my case (self mod) and works great, but a little noisy. Regards.

if your mobo has pins for extra fans, you can try connecting it there...

Hey, I modded a CPU (P100) fan and a PSU fan so they make a great case fan =). All I did was wire the black cables together and reds together (standard Molex connector). Works like a dream. ie.

PSU-- red----><--black-- Molex.

All I need now is 2 more 8cm fans, and Ill have 6 fans going :P. (PSU, CPU, Chipset, Case atm).

Cheers
Dean
