My current CPU has bitten the dust and I just wanted to make sure the motherboard I have and the CPU I plan on buying are compatible.
Mobo:
http://pixel01.cps.intel.com/design...CPU:
http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Produc...The specs all match up with the exception of the processor being 800mhz and the Mobo being 533mhz.
any confirmation would be appreciated

This is an intel 845 chipset equipped motherboard. In short the answer is NO.
You need to locate a "Northwood" P4 CPU. "Prescott" will 99% of the time not function on an 845 chipset, mostly 848p chipsets and up.
Northwood is clock-for-clock faster than the Prescott anyway. This is probably the fastest option for that board:
http://cgi.ebay.com/Intel-Pentium-4...Even than, it still may not function.
PowerMac 9600(1 ghz G4)
512mb RAM
50gb SCSI
ATi 9200 PCI

According to the compatibility list, you need one of these...

A 3.06Ghz/533FSB chip was also made. These are Northwood-B processors.
