I have an eMachine computer that I have had for almost three years now. I have slowly upgraged memory, DVD drive/recorder, second hard drive. I am now curious if the processor can also be upgraded? Or is the current processor I have now the best or if I can even change the processor to an Intel?

You can't use an Intel CPU on an Athlon XP board, so that's out. Considering the cost of CPUs & what you have, buying a new Athlon XP CPU is probably not money well spent. What do you use this machine for? Guessing from your RAM amount of 352MB, you're probably using onboard video & "stealing" 32MB from 384MB you have installed. If you do any gaming, a video card might be an idea...that would return those 32MB back to the system RAM too. But if your eMachine has no AGP slot (PCI only), there aren't a lot of really good cards available, & what good ones there are, aren't cheap. Even a cheap 64-bit card is better than onboard though.

Better to just get a new computer. I think 3 years is more than enough. Especially for a emachines.
