Any amd socket A mobile cpu will be the best OC'ing cpu because the multiplier is unlocked.

To do this your mother board should support the adjustments of cpu vcore, cpu multiplier and FSB. Does your MB support those functions?

Have a look at the link below and choose your mobile cpu.

You need a motherboard that supports 400FSB (200mhz) & PC3200 RAM, not a new CPU

Asus A7N8X-X
1800+ @8x210mhz
512mb PC3200
Ti4200/8X 128mb
WDC 60GB

Need more info...

There are 4 different 2400+ CPUs...which one do you have? Three of them run at 2000mhz (15 x 133mhz)...two Tbreds & one Thorton. The fourth is a Sempron which runs at 1667mhz (10 x 166mhz).

If you plan on keeping that board/RAM combo, you could upgrade to one of Barton CPUs that runs at 166mhz (333FSB). I don't know how cost effective it would be though...you might be plunking out $100 +/- for just a minor performance increase.

Have you tried overclocking your 2400+? What speed are you running it at now? Is it currently running at 133mhz/266FSB? Is your RAM in sync? Can you raise the FSB in 1mhz increments?
