Which processor is capable for windows vista and heavy games AMD ATHLON 64 3700+ OR AMD ATHLON 64 X2 3800+ TELL ME PLEASE?

your current 3.2ghz pentium 4 will run it happily the current recomended not minmum specs are atleast pentium 4 3ghz and 1gb ram.
So if your getting a new system for vista there is no point. But erm i think its the AMD ATHLON 64 X2 3800+ as its dual core and when vista comes out more surported apps and games will be out by then and you will get a boat from it using the dual cores but at the moment there are only a hand few of games and i dont think any apps that will take advatage of it and XP doesnt
Hope this helps

Either of those CPUs or your P4 will handle Vista. The amount of RAM & video card will be more important.
As 02coled pointed out, there are few games or apps that currently take advantage of dual core. This is expected to change, but the change will be slow. Of the two CPUs you've listed, the 3700+ San Diego is definitely the better gamer, mostly due to it's 1MB L2 cache. It's about $50 cheaper than the X2 3800+ too. In single core apps, the X2 3800+ is comparable to the 3200+ Venice. The cheapest dual core CPU with 1MB L2 is the X2 4400+ Toldeo, but it's about $150 more than the 3700+

San Diego core AMD Athlon 64 3700+ is by far the best bang for your buck. 105 dollars for this fast as hell single core cpu. This thing is not going to have any problems going through Vista what so ever. It's faster then all of the Pentium D 840 to 940 cpus and faster then AMD Athlon 64 X2 3800+, X2 4200+ and even the X2 4400+ in single core apps. Infact the way the new beta build is on Vista the 3700+ might even run faster then on XP. Some early games are showing that with this new beta build Vista loads games faster with the same processors then it does on XP.
As for dual core gaming, the way the cpu market is right nwo I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of games just skip dual core and go right to quad-core. That way they won't have to build another gaming engine in a such a short time frame to support 4 cores.
