Hi

I recently got a 2.6ghz processor to replace my 1..6
processor (penium 4).

for some reason the bios shows that this is only operating
at 1.3ghz.

there is not a lot of info on the motherboard but i do
know it is a atx trigem Cupertino with a 845 ddr chipset.

Is it possible to get this chip running faster by
overclocking or changing something.

thanks in advance

Sounds like you got an 800MHz FSB processor while your old motherboard only supports a 400MHz FSB chip. This would effectively cut clock speed in half. 2.6GHz / 2= 1.3GHz

No, you can't overclock HPs.

The only way to get the full 2.6ghz would be to return your 2.6C and get a (increasingly rare) 2.6A (400FSB) P4.
