Hi,

The system im using is
E6400
945P-S3 Gigabyte Board
2x1GB ADATA Memory
Coolermaster 430W Psu

Im trying to clock this machine but i have had alot of trouble. After raising the fsb from 266 to somewhere around 276, my computer stops working and i need to reset the cmos to get it started again.

Ive configured the bios (disabled advanced bios features such as c1E support etc. Ive also locked the pci-e bus to 100, but i couldnt lock the pci bus to 33 (assume its set as default as i cannot find it in my bios menu).

The bios has been updated to the most recent firmware also. Tried upping the voltages of the ram by +0.1 and the cpu but that didnt help much either.

Anyone else have the same problem, or anyone know how to fix it? My reasoning is that i shouldnt need to even up the voltages to get a very small overclock on this processor.

What clock speed are you running the RAM at, and what are the specs on the RAM ?

Exactly what I was gonna ask.

If the CPU is running at 266MHz freq (1066MHz FSB), the RAM should also be running at 266MHz freq (DDR533). If you increase the CPU freq to say, 300Mhz (1200MHz FSB), the RAM should be run at 300MHz (DDR600). If you're running the RAM at it's default speed of 400MHz (DDR800) & increasing the CPU freq, it's likely the RAM is what's holding you back.
