Hi
I have a P4 2.6GHz @ 3.1GHz
Asus P4P800
512 2x256 Kingston DDR400

A few days ago my system blue screened on me
so I decided to run the Prime95 torture test.
I had it running for 24Hours, 18Hours, and 6Hours so basically its been running for 48hours with breaks for gaming in between. And it passed all the tests.

Does Prime95 always bring out instability of systems? Was that just a random WinXP blue screen? How long should I be running Prime95 torture tests for?

Thanks

You can also run
1. the Sandra Burn-In test,
2. PI-fast in continuous loop,
3. the PCMark test series,
4. or Seti@Home command-line

They will all pretty much peg the processor and Sandra especially will also push the memory to your (selected) FSB limit.

Another issue may be your OS/software causing it (though not likely).

Bluescreens from my exp usually indicate a problem with your memory, not the processor (processor overheat will usually result in a reboot)

Hope it helps

Joe
