Prime95 torture test

A few days ago my system blue screened on me so I decided to run the Prime95 torture test. I had it running for 24Hours, 18Hours, and 6Hours so basically its been running for 48hours with breaks for gaming in between. And it passed all the tests.
Does Prime95 always bring out instability of systems? Was that just a random WinXP blue screen? How long should I be running Prime95 torture tests for?
