Power supply

CPU/Ram: p/4 2.53/ samsung 333 ram

I am using a Antec 350 ATX Model No PP352XF single fan exhaust P/Supply and have connected the 3-pin fan signal( two wires one black one white) to the motherboard, it records the fan speed in my bios ok

But the fan is running at full speed, and when I disconnect the signal cable from the board it runs normal again!!
My thoughts. If it is going faster, then it means it's getting more power from the motherboard which it doesn’t need!

I Have a Gigabyte Board GA-8PE667 Ultra. With a dedicated power fan pin.
Not worried just curious.
Any thoughts

Disconnect the fan tha change the power adapter at the end to one that will plug into the power supply and that will fix the problem.
