Hi.

I seam to be having something wrong with either my power supply or my video card.

For the last few weeks if do a hard reboot of my computer it sometimes doesn't come back on. the power will flick on for 1 sec and then die and I will just have to try again in a few min. and then it comes back on.

Then the last few times it has been hanging on the bios screen and then a error about the video card will come up. I hit F1 to bypass and my computer runs fine.

Well now I have my computer in pieces on the desk here. and it won't turn on , I have taken out the video card and unpluged one of the hard drives. not sure what to do next. When I hit the power button it give power for about 1/2 a sec and then dies.

Thanks

T-boy

Power came back online , and I just started download a bunch of stuff and putting stress on the CPU and power supply I guess.

Weird , think my Power supply is starting to go or could it be something else.

I'd say you can rule out the video card as the problem. Post the make/model wattage & amperage specs of your PSU.

BTW, what does this have to do with overclocking?

I am not sure it this has anything to do with overclocking other then my CPU is overclocked.

AMD 2100XP running at 1833mhz.

computer seams to be find for the last few days.
300W power supply. Not sure what make...

CPU idle settings 37C MB 28C
Load CPU 46C MB 31C

12V ... 12.416
5V ... 4.811
3.3V ... 3.232
Vcore ... 1.76 (Never changes at all)

From Asus probe 2 app

I'm At a lost as to why this happens, have not rebooted my computer since the problem a little afride to...

Yep, random restarts, no video during POST, power light comes on for a second or two (as you mentioned), hissing, buzzing or clicking noises from the PS to name a few.
