Possibly Bad CPU

Specs: Windows 7
My custom machine wont boot with my AMD x4 965, but will boot with my old AMD 4600 (not 100% on that one).

The problem started when I installed my H70 into the computer, when i put everything back in the computer wouldn't POST. All my case fans just power to 100% then back down to about normal, then back up to 100% and keeps repeating. The CPU gets hot (if that helps), but i'm not entirely sure what's wrong.

The system boots and runs fine with the old 4600.

P.S. (the computer ran fine before with the 965 before I started messing around installing the H70).

"What else would you like to know...?"

Uh, motherboard make/model? If your old CPU was an X2 4600+, it's very possible you have an AM2 board, in which case an AM3 CPU probably won't work. Did you bother to check to see if the CPU is supported before you bought it? It may not be supported at all or you may need a BIOS update.
