Specs: Windows 7
Is it possible to unlock 6 cores on this specific CPU?

Ive got the M4A88TD-V EVO/USB3 and core unlocker i wanted to know if this 970 is pure 4cores or if there is 6 cores with only 4 enabled.

I don't know AMD that well, but I highly doubt it. It is much more difficult and more expensive to create a CPU with two more cores and If they went through the trouble to make it, they would charge more because they could. It is one thing to select the best (high bin) chips and sell them with higher multipliers or unlocked multipliers and the lower bin (less stable at higher speeds) and lock them down so they are usable (sellable) at a lower price, but to make a hex core and disable two cores to sell it for less.... not too likely.

You have to be a little bit crazy to keep you from going insane.

No the 970 is purely 4 cores it has no relation to the 6 core models in terms of cores being disabled.

The best way to know if two cpu's are similar is to look the core name. 970=deneb x6=Thuban.
