What exactly are the risks to the AGP and pci cards running your bus from 100mhz to 112 mhz, aida says my ram can run at 100 mhz or 125 mhz its pc100 stuff, it all seems stable ill run p95 later just wondered if its worth the risk?
I assume you're asking about an older board that has no way of altering the PCI/AGP speeds? I don't know what the safe max is for your AGP or PCI cards...that will vary from card to card. But usually, you'll run into problems when the PCI speed hits 38mhz or thereabouts...not necessarily probs with the PCI cards themselves, but you run the risk of data corruption on your HDD at that speed. Personally, I consider 37.5mhz the "safe" max...at 112mhz FSB, you're right about there at 37.33mhz (112/3). Another couple of mhz isn't gonna make you or break you anyway...I'd sit tight at 112mhz
