Ok, I have this computer. It is a Compaq or HP, the proccessor on it is an AMD Athalon 3600+ 2.4 GHZ. I recently got a new laptop It is a HP It has a pentium Core Duo or Pentium Dou. Something like that, but it runs on 1.6 GHZ. I was wondering wich one of these proccessors is better? I like the Duo myself, but I'm not sure.

There appears to be a typo with the AMD CPU. The 3600+ is a dual core CPU that runs at 1.9GHz...are you sure you don't have a 3800+ single core? or possibly a 4600+ dual core? Both run at 2.4GHz.
Regardless, the Core 2 Duo beats em both even though it's clocked lower.

Nope. I looke at the box and says AMD athalon 3600+ 2.4 GHZ. I go to this thing that shows all hardware and vidoe card and ram and local Harddrives. IT says AMD Athalon@2.4 GHZ.
The sticker on the Intel says Centrino Duo@1.6 GHZ. Is it still faster?

It's faster, 2 Logical Processors > 1 Logical Processor. The difference should be noticable.
