Just out of curiosity I am trying to work out the differnce between a Pentium M processor and a Mobile Pentium 4 processor. (I am of course assuming they are different processors and not the same processor under a different name).
Maybe someone can tell me in simple terms? Tried to check it out over the net but got lost in all the technical jargon.
Thanks

The Pentiun M is by far the better choice. Good info here:

Some Pentium Ms come with Centrino technology. On the averge, Pentium Ms can also can use half the power of a Pentium 4 Mobile. 35w vs. 70 w. This is usually accomplished with Intel's Speed Step technology, so, if you don't plan on using this, it doesn't matter.

"Some Pentium Ms come with Centrino technology"
One of the requirements of "Centrino technology" is that a Pentium M must be used:
"Intel Centrino Mobile technology includes the following components:
- Intel® Pentium® M processor
- Mobile Intel® 915 Express chipset family or Intel® 855 chipset family
- Intel® PRO/Wireless Network Connection Family"http://intel.com/products/centrino/index.htm

Well, didn't wanna say "all" as I have a laptop that has the pentium M, but does not sport the "Centrino" label. Any ways it does have the 855 chipset. :-)
