Is there a significant difference between between a Pentium D w/ dual core tech as opposed to a Pentium 4 w/ HTT...and let's say they are both 3 ghz...im trying to decide whether i should get D or 4.

Between the two, the Pentium D is the better performer. Are you planning to build from the scratch or doing just a CPU upgrade?
