I was wondering what a good motherboard to match this cpu would be. I was previously looking at 955x based boards but am now considering the Gigabyte GA-8N-SLI nforce4 board. Would this be a good enough overclocker? The fsb is only going to be pushed 200mhz max so do i really need to spend £100+ on a board?
Thanks in advance

This was the 955x board i was considering before but the lack of sli/crossfire support and price put me off a bit. Would i really gain that much choosing the asus over the Gigabyte? I am trying to build a budget pc and don't want to 'break the bank' unneccesarily.

The ASUS may be the better overclocker, but considering the SLI features and your budget, the GA-8N-SLI nforce4 from Gigabyte is not a bad idea.

You can go for it but the Northbridge reportedly can get a little hot and also don't use the CIA2 (CPU Intelligent Accelerator) feature bundled with the board.

Another inexpensive option to look at is at the URL below.

If you're on such a budget, why are you even considering a Crossfire or SLi board?

Well i'm on a tight budget at the moment and i want to build asap. So later down the line when i have money i could spend probably half the amount that i would on a better card and buy a second to go with the other. Would my overclocking be effected much by the cheaper board? Considering the fsb does not need to be raised very high with the cpu i plan to purchase i wouldn't have thought i would see much difference. Thanks in advance.
