I have finally built up the courage to fully overclock my CPU properly. I am using air cooling. Full load on each core gets to 70c max. Is this ok to run it at this temperature?
By the way at this speed idle is about 55c.
My load temperatures are a bit better than Tom's Hardware 805 tests on air. http://tomshardware.co.uk/2006/05/10/dual_41_ghz_cores_uk/page25.html

Download throttlewatch from www.yahoo.com and see if the CPU throttles under heavy load. If not, then there is nothing to worry about... Also don't forget Intel has max VCC @ 1.55v for all 90nm prescott CPU, I'd suggest you stay below that for every day usuage(also make sure the vcore doesn't overvolt beyond 1.55v during heavy load or idling)... Else, welcome to the 50% air overclock club, if we had one =D
By the way, what is the absoulte max overclock you can go with that setup? My absolute max overclock is 4.2Ghz @ 1.6v, any more voltage, system become unstable...

Summary: So Intel has came out with an affordable Core 2 Duo called the E4300 and even though it looks the same as a E6300 it's not. One noticable defference is the Core change. The E4300 is on the Allendale c...
Summary: If you are not going to overclock, do not get it since its 533Mhz FSB and only running at 2.66Ghz. If you are going to overclock, then try this link below... http://www.ocforums.com/showthread.php?t=...
Summary: "im fairly cirtain my specs arent up for any decent (if any) OC of my 805" From what I've read, the Pentium D 805 is a monster overclocker...clock speeds of well over 3.0GHz are "normal". For example,...
