Comment: Is there any benefit and or risk to raising the PCI-e frequency? I have a stable overclock to 3.751 with a Bus Speed and Dram frequency @ 234.5 MHz 1:1. My motherboard is PCIE 2.0 compliant and my graphics card is PCIE 2.0. The PCI-e frequency is set at the default 100 MHz and can go as high as 200 MHZ. I was told by EVGA that double the bandwidth doesn't necessarily mean double the clock speed. They did not however tell me what the proper clock speed should be. Any thoughts?

Reply: (edit)You should always keep your PCI-e frequency at 100mhz or else you could risk your pci-e card becoming unstable and crashing or even end up frying the card itself.

Reply: (edit)Overcocking the PCI-e bus will also overclock the standard PCI bus & that *may* cause data corruption on your HDD(s), problems with PCI devices, onboard sound, etc. The PCI-e frequency should be locked at 100MHz. But if you insist on experimenting, limit the PCI-e overclock to a max 112MHz...that will limit the PCI overclock to 37.33MHz, which is generally considered to be the safe max.

Reply: (edit)I have an AMD Sempron 2500 running at 1.75GHz. The CPU temp is reported at 50 C. Is this too high? I have read that cpu temp should be no higher than system temp (presently 38 C). Ambient temp presently 22C. Should I install one of those directed airflow tubes directly to the cpu? Will cooling the temp by another 10c (if possible) result in better performance?
